STEM CELLS FROM TEETH TREAT HEART ATTACKS. PROMISING RESULTS SHOWN IN ANIMAL STUDIES

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. People of all ages and backgrounds can be affected.

In a study in Spain, researchers demonstrated the potential of stem cells from teeth to treat acute myocardial infarction.

What the research demonstrated:

• Seven days following a myocardial infarction (heart attack), animals were treated with stem cells from teeth and monitored. After several weeks, the animals showed an improvement in cardiac function and reduction in the size of the damage to the heart.
